President Donald Trump said government employment has fallen while private-sector hiring has accelerated since he took office, previewing an upcoming jobs report that he predicted will show "through-the-roof" gains. Trump told reporters on Tuesday that the administration has trimmed about 84,000 positions from the federal workforce and that the economy has generated more than 500,000 private-sector jobs during the same period. "Government jobs are going down and private jobs are coming up — and that’s what really fuels the country," he said.
.@POTUS: "Since the inauguration, we've created over half a million new private jobs... government jobs are going down and private jobs are coming up — and that's what really fuels the country... We've reduced the number of federal bureaucrats by 84,000." https://t.co/AtYAO2GTTj
