Klobuchar Calls for Democratic Unity, Rebukes Trump on Immigration

Senator Amy Klobuchar used a public appearance on 25 August to urge Democrats to end internal sniping and to sharpen their contrast with President Donald Trump on immigration. Rejecting what she described as a "we suck club" mentality within the party, the Minnesota lawmaker told colleagues that "complaining about each other to each other – it isn’t how we win again." Klobuchar also directed remarks at Trump, declaring that "immigrants don’t diminish America, they are America," a rebuttal to the president’s restrictive immigration agenda. The comments underscore Democratic efforts to project unity as the 2026 mid-term cycle approaches and to draw a clear policy line on immigration.

Democrats: “we are a nation of immigrants”, so they want open borders for the entire 3rd world to move here. Just because we have a history of immigration doesn’t mean we need to commit national suicide with an open borders policy. Not all cultures are equal.
