U.S. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer told a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday that the Department of Labor has draped a large banner bearing President Donald Trump’s image across the agency’s Washington headquarters. Chavez-DeRemer described Trump as “the transformational president of the American worker,” saying the banner was displayed alongside the U.S. flag and a portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Chavez-DeRemer used the meeting to promote what she called the administration’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” a yet-to-be-introduced legislative package she said would expand Pell Grants, increase childcare assistance and cut taxes. Agriculture Secretary Chad Rollins, speaking afterward, framed the measure as “the greatest investment in rural America in history— a game changer, a country saver.” No cost estimate or timetable for the proposal was provided.
