Speaking at a commercial refrigeration plant, Vance attacked Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff for opposing the legislation, calling the lawmaker “far-left” and urging voters to hold him accountable in the 2026 midterms. He warned fellow Republicans not to “take anything for granted,” saying Democrats were still seeking to register non-citizens to vote in federal elections. The White House says the law will reward working families and spur business investment. Opponents, including Ossoff, argue the changes could strip health coverage from more than 100,000 Georgians and strain hospital budgets; a Southeast Georgia hospital has cited a projected US$3.5 million shortfall next year. A July Fox News poll found 58 percent of registered voters oppose the bill, while 39 percent approve.
