Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has opened applications for the fifth cohort of its Speedrun program, SR005, targeting startups at the intersection of technology, entertainment, and artificial intelligence. The program, which will run from July 29 to October 10, 2025, in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, offers up to $1 million in investment for each selected company. The Speedrun initiative is designed to support pre-seed and seed stage startups, with a focus on those building in areas such as AI, creative technologies, and entertainment. The application deadline is set for May 11, 2025, and selected founders will have the opportunity to work closely with a16z's team and a network of industry mentors. The program culminates in a Demo Day on October 7 during SF Tech Week, where less than 1% of applicants are accepted. Since 2023, a16z has deployed over $100 million to more than 120 startups through Speedrun. In addition to the Speedrun announcement, NetMind AI has entered into a strategic partnership with UOB Venture Management and Signum Capital, securing a $700,000 investment. This partnership aims to enhance the development of practical AI use cases across various industries.
