UK-based AI startup Cosine has raised $2.5 million in seed funding to support the development of its AI software engineer, Genie. Genie has been recognized as the world's most capable AI software engineer, achieving a 30.08% score on the SWE-Bench, outperforming competitors such as Amazon and Cognition. The AI was trained to think and behave like a human software engineer, utilizing reasoning datasets that codify human reasoning. Cosine's Genie is considered 22 times better than OpenAI's GPT-4, marking a significant advancement in AI coding capabilities.
