The cryptocurrency exchange eXch announced it will cease operations on May 1 following allegations that it was used to launder funds linked to the Bybit hack, reportedly associated with the Lazarus Group. This decision comes amid increased scrutiny of crypto platforms involved in illicit activities. Separately, Galaxy Research has introduced a proposal called Multiple Election Stake-Weight Aggregation (MESA) aimed at addressing Solana's inflation issues. The MESA proposal would enable validators to vote on deflation rates and establish a new emissions curve to reduce Solana's inflation from 4.6% to a fixed terminal rate. Galaxy Digital, the parent company of Galaxy Research, has also withdrawn $58 million worth of SOL tokens from exchanges in connection with this initiative. Additionally, venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) invested $55 million in LayerZero with a three-year lock-up period, reflecting ongoing investment activity in the blockchain sector.
