Fantasy Top, an Ethereum-based NFT game that turns social media personalities into fantasy sports 'heroes,' has expanded to the newly launched testnet of the layer-1 blockchain, Monad. The game, which previously launched on Ethereum layer-2 network Blast, now offers a free-to-play version on Monad, aiming to attract 100,000 daily active users. Players can claim a free pack of 15 hero cards and compete in contests for rewards including XP, tickets, and the testnet token fMON. This expansion follows a period of declining user engagement on Blast, with 80,000 wallets having joined the new game on Monad. Fantasy Top has raised $4.25 million in December to further its goal of financializing social media. Monad, which has raised $244 million to compete with Solana and Ethereum, launched its testnet on Wednesday, distributing testnet tokens to over 8.8 million EVM wallets based on their activity on other chains.
