Enterprise automation start-up Maisa AI has secured a $25 million seed round led by Stockholm-based venture firm Creandum, with participation from Forgepoint Capital International—investing through its European venture with Banco Santander—as well as existing backers NFX and Village Global. The year-old company, headquartered in Valencia and San Francisco, will use the funds to expand its workforce from 35 to roughly 65 employees by the first quarter of 2026 and to accelerate rollout of its newly launched Maisa Studio platform. Maisa was founded after a report by MIT’s NANDA initiative found that 95 percent of corporate generative-AI pilots fail to reach production. Rather than abandon the technology, the start-up argues that enterprises need ‘accountable’ AI agents that can be audited and supervised—an approach it says distinguishes it from traditional robotic-process-automation vendors and newer code-generation tools. The company’s product suite includes HALP (Human-Augmented LLM Processing), which guides users through each step of a task, and the deterministic Knowledge Processing Unit, designed to curb hallucinations. Maisa says the technology is already in production at a large bank and in the automotive and energy sectors, and it offers both cloud and on-premise deployments to meet regulatory requirements.
