Nvidia Becomes Major Shareholder in Sakana AI with ¥20 Billion Investment

Nvidia is expanding its role in the AI industry by investing in Tokyo-based startup Sakana AI, which has raised over $100 million (¥20 billion) in a Series A funding round. Nvidia will become a major shareholder and the biggest investor in Sakana AI, joining other investors such as NEA, Khosla Ventures, and Lux Capital. Sakana AI, co-founded by former Google researchers, aims to establish a world-class AI research lab in Japan, focusing on nature-inspired AI, data centers, and democratizing AI technology in the country.
