Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, has made his first investment in the cryptocurrency sector since completing a prison sentence related to a $4.3 billion settlement with U.S. authorities. Through his newly rebranded firm, YZi Labs, Zhao led a $16 million investment in Sign, an on-chain credential verification and token distribution platform. This marks YZi Labs' first investment following its rebranding from Binance Labs. The investment aims to enhance trust and transparency in token distributions, addressing challenges such as bot interference and scams in the airdrop process. Other investors participating in this funding round include Altos Ventures, HackVC, and Amber Ventures.
