Tavus, a generative AI video startup, announced it has raised $18 million to further develop its technology that allows for face and voice cloning across any application. The company introduced the Tavus Developer Platform and the Phoenix public beta, which enables the creation of human-like replicas and text-to-video content through simple APIs. The platform boasts features such as making a personal replica with just 2 minutes of footage, generating realistic videos in minutes, and supporting video generation in 30 languages. The launch has garnered attention and congratulations from various corners of the tech community, including Y Combinator, where Tavus was part of the S21 batch. Hassaan Raza and Qasim Farooq Ali were specifically congratulated for their roles in the launch.
