Despite its bold vision and significant financial backing from investors like Khosla Ventures, Founders Fund, and Marc Benioff, Forward faced challenges with operational complexity, scaling infrastructure, and the limitations of reactive care. After 8 years in operation and raising $650 million, the company has shut down its locations and mobile app, effective immediately.

I am not surprised that Forward Health is closing. They wanted people to go into little pods and have computers be their doctors. Healthcare is deeply personal. It requires empathy and understanding and love. You can't replace that with a POD.
