The Colombian government confirmed that 38 Colombian nationals remain detained in Venezuela, with authorities in Caracas not providing information regarding their legal status or granting consular access. Among those detained are three women, and the detentions have been described as arbitrary. Since July 2024, these individuals have been held without clear judicial transparency. Recently, five Colombians were released by Venezuelan authorities, including four signatories of the peace agreement with the FARC and one official from Colombia's National Reintegration Agency (ARN). Additionally, a Colombian woman was detained in Venezuela for attempting to transport 2.8 kilograms of cocaine on a flight to Madrid. Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López announced the seizure of nearly 2,800 kilograms of cocaine in the Amazonas state during a military operation. Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello reported that Venezuela has seized a total of 52.7 tons of drugs in 2025 and has dismantled several drug trafficking operations. Meanwhile, Foro Penal reported that 816 people remain detained in Venezuela for political reasons, including 89 foreigners and 170 military personnel, with 42 individuals held in undisclosed locations. Among the detainees, four are adolescents aged 14 to 17. Family members of Colombian political prisoner Brayan Navarro have organized marches in the Cesar department demanding his release.
