Activision formally revealed “Call of Duty: Black Ops 7” during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, confirming a 14 November 2025 global launch on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. The title, co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, will be included with Game Pass on day one and supports Xbox Play Anywhere for cross-purchase play across console and PC. Set in 2035, the campaign can be tackled solo or in four-player co-op and introduces a fear-toxin storyline featuring returning protagonist David Mason and antagonist Raul Menendez. Multiplayer debuts an “Omnimovement” system, ships with 16 traditional 6v6 maps and two 20v20 Skirmish arenas, while the round-based Zombies mode returns on the series’ largest map to date. A headline new quality-of-life feature lets players generate and share “Weapon Build Codes” from the in-game Gunsmith, allowing friends to import identical load-outs with a single entry. Identical builds automatically share the same code, reducing duplication. Testing begins with an early-access beta on 2 October for pre-orders and Game Pass subscribers, followed by an open beta from 5–8 October. Pre-ordering the Vault Edition adds bonus operators, Mastercraft weapons and a season of the BlackCell battle pass. Developers said they are monitoring community feedback on cosmetic items and reiterated that generative-AI tools are used only to assist artists, not replace them, after criticism over previous in-game assets.
