Liquid AI has launched LFM2-VL, a new generation of efficient vision-language models (VLMs) designed for deployment across a range of edge devices including smartphones, laptops, wearables, and embedded systems. The models come in two sizes, 450 million and 1.6 billion parameters, and are optimized for native resolutions and aspect ratios without distortion. They leverage SigLIP2 NaFlex encoders and offer up to twice the speed on GPUs while maintaining competitive accuracy. LFM2-VL is available as open-weight models under an Apache 2.0-based license on Hugging Face. Meanwhile, HTC has introduced the Vive Eagle smart glasses, positioning itself against Meta, while Solos is developing AI-equipped smart glasses aimed at assisting the blind and low-vision community.
