OpenAI has launched a new tool called 'Deep Research' within ChatGPT, which utilizes the o3 model to conduct comprehensive online research and generate detailed reports in minutes, a process that traditionally takes analysts hours. This tool marks a significant step towards the development of AI agents capable of handling complex tasks. Within 24 hours of its release, an open-source version of Deep Research was developed by Hugging Face, achieving a 54% accuracy on the GAIA benchmark, compared to OpenAI's 67% accuracy on the same test. The rapid replication of Deep Research highlights the competitive landscape of AI development, with open-source alternatives quickly emerging to challenge proprietary systems.

Deep Research from @OpenAI is ridiculously good I am not sure why we need those market and market research reports any more. Wait. The work they do powers Deep Research so it is likely they will charge a lot more. Which means it will be free for many more people.
