The United Arab Emirates has announced plans to build the world’s largest artificial intelligence campus outside the United States, aiming to establish itself as a global leader in AI technology. In conjunction with this initiative, a research arm of the Abu Dhabi government released the Falcon Arabic AI model, a new Arabic-language artificial intelligence system designed to outperform regional competitors. The UAE describes Falcon Arabic as the best-performing AI model in the Arab world, trained on regional dialects to enhance its effectiveness. Additionally, the UAE has introduced a new Falcon H1 model, expanding its Falcon AI project. This development comes amid increasing AI investment globally, with France committing €20 billion to AI and Nvidia allocating 78% of its Q1 investments to CoreWeave. The UAE’s efforts reflect a broader acceleration in AI development and competition within the Middle East.
