The Argentine government under President Javier Milei has implemented a series of structural reforms and privatization initiatives across key public sectors. Through Decree 452/2025, the government merged the National Regulatory Entity for Gas (ENARGAS) and the National Regulatory Entity for Electricity (ENRE) into a single body called the National Regulatory Entity for Gas and Electricity, aiming to centralize regulatory functions and simplify the sector's structure. Additionally, the government announced the dissolution of the National Directorate of Roads (Vialidad Nacional), responsible for managing road concessions and maintenance, as well as the elimination of the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV), as part of a broader reorganization of transport and transit systems under Decree 461/2025. Furthermore, the administration has initiated the privatization of several state-owned enterprises. This includes the water and sanitation company AySA, with plans to transfer 90% of its shares to private capital, as well as the energy transmission company Transener, a subsidiary of Energía Argentina Sociedad Anónima (ENARSA), marking the start of its sale process. These moves reflect Milei's agenda to reduce state involvement and increase private sector participation in Argentina's utilities and infrastructure sectors.
