The Australian Football League has confirmed that U.S. rap artist Snoop Dogg will headline the pre-game entertainment at the 2025 AFL Grand Final on 27 September. The 53-year-old performer—whose hits include “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “Gin & Juice”—is scheduled to appear before a live audience of about 100,000 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and millions of television viewers. “It’s an absolute honour to be hitting the stage at the AFL Grand Final—one of the biggest events on the Aussie calendar,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement. AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon called the booking a chance to “make history,” adding that the league wants Grand Final day to be “an unforgettable celebration of footy, culture and entertainment.” Snoop Dogg is the third American artist in as many years to front the event’s Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment, following Katy Perry in 2024 and KISS in 2023. The booking continues the league’s recent strategy of securing global performers to broaden the Grand Final’s appeal beyond sport.
