Elon Musk said on Thursday that xAI will begin training its next-generation large language model, Grok 5, in September. Musk added that the system "has a shot at being true AGI," the first time he has publicly suggested one of his projects could attain artificial general intelligence. Musk, who also leads Tesla, separately announced that the electric-car maker plans to release Autopilot software version 14 next month. The update is expected to be the most substantial revision to Tesla’s driver-assistance suite since version 13 and comes as regulators and investors scrutinize the company’s progress toward fuller self-driving capability.
