Elon Musk's brain-computer interface company Neuralink has raised $600 million in a new funding round, boosting its valuation to $9 billion. This marks a substantial increase from its $3.5 billion valuation last year and $5 billion valuation in June 2024. The funding round included participation from investors such as Founders Fund, Google Ventures, and sovereign wealth funds. Neuralink, which has received FDA clearance, has successfully implanted brain chips in three patients, including a man with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) who has been able to communicate using the device. The company is advancing its technology to further develop brain implant applications.
