The Ethereum Foundation has launched the Trillion Dollar Security (1TS) project, an ecosystem-wide initiative aimed at enhancing the security of the Ethereum network. The Foundation released its first 1TS report outlining a roadmap to address key security challenges, including user experience and the social layer. This effort involves some of the industry's leading security experts. However, internal conflicts have surfaced within the Foundation. Péter Szilágyi, a former Ethereum Foundation developer, revealed that his departure was not a sabbatical but a firing following the discovery of a "secret second Geth team" at Nethermind. Szilágyi also disclosed that the Foundation had offered $5 million to the Geth team to become independent, an offer the team declined, and a similar $5 million offer was made to Parity to support their client. These developments have raised scrutiny over the Ethereum Foundation's internal dynamics amid its efforts to secure the network capable of handling trillions of dollars in value.
