Tensions flared backstage ahead of Saturday’s Harlem Eubank-Jack Catterall bout in Manchester when welterweight contender Conor Benn entered Eubank’s dressing room to monitor the challenger’s hand-wrapping on behalf of Team Catterall. Matchroom Boxing staff and cameras were told to leave as Benn inspected the wraps, according to promotional footage posted shortly before the fighters were due to walk to the ring. Words were exchanged between Benn and Eubank, but no formal complaint was lodged and the bout remained on schedule, broadcasters DAZN and Wasserman Boxing said.
