The British Boxing Board of Control has fined Chris Eubank Jr £10,000 for breaching its social-media rules after the middleweight posted footage that appeared to show him using a sauna to cut weight ahead of his April bout with Conor Benn. The practice is banned under Board safety regulations, but the Southern Area Council ruled that, while Eubank had not actually used a sauna on the day of the weigh-in, the post itself constituted misuse of social media under Regulation 25. In addition to the financial penalty, the Board issued a severe reprimand and noted that the fighter arrived late for the official weigh-in. The sanction lifts Eubank’s cumulative fines tied to the Benn fight to about £610,000, following earlier disciplinary actions for weight-management violations.
