Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has prohibited the sale of a new olive oil brand, Vale dos Vinhedos, and suspended a batch of Qualitá brand garlic sauce sold by Pão de Açúcar. The agency also ordered the suspension of sales for several other food products including fruit pulp and canned champignon mushrooms. The actions were taken after Anvisa identified sanitary irregularities such as excessive levels of sulfur dioxide and unknown product origins. The affected products include olive oil, garlic sauce, fruit pulp, and champignon mushrooms from various brands. Anvisa has issued recalls and warnings to consumers regarding these products.
