The Brazilian Football Confederation released the VAR audio from Sunday’s 2–1 victory by Red Bull Bragantino over Corinthians, confirming that on-field referee Bruno Arleu de Araújo initially judged the 26-minute clash between Corinthians defender Cacá and Bragantino forward Vinicinho as “inevitable contact” before changing his mind to award a penalty after guidance from video official Rafael Traci. Eduardo Sasha converted the spot-kick and Thiago Borbas sealed the win in stoppage time at Neo Química Arena. Corinthians’ players, coaching staff and supporters protested the call, and match commissioner’s notes state a club employee had to be restrained by police near the tunnel area after the decision. The defeat leaves the São Paulo side 11th in the Série A table on 16 points, while Bragantino climbs to third on the same total because of goal difference. Post-match tensions escalated further when Borbas alleged that Corinthians midfielder Rodrigo Garro struck him from behind in the tunnel to the dressing rooms. Bragantino said it is reviewing the incident but has not filed a police report. Corinthians have not commented publicly on the claim.
