Marfrig Global Foods SA has announced a merger with BRF SA, creating a new entity named Grupo MBRF. The merger aims to establish a global meat giant with an annual revenue of approximately R$ 150 billion. Marfrig reported a first-quarter net profit of R$ 88 million, a 40.3% increase, and its stock price is currently around 25 reais. The J&F Group has finalized its acquisition of Eldorado Celulose, ending a significant corporate dispute in Brazil. J&F paid US$ 2.64 billion in cash to Paper Excellence, marking the conclusion of a legal battle that had spanned multiple jurisdictions. This acquisition positions J&F as the largest business group in Brazil. Warren Buffett, the 94-year-old CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., has announced his retirement effective January 1, 2026, after 55 years at the helm. He will remain as chairman of the board.
