Brazilian footballer Vinícius Júnior unveiled a life-size wax figure of himself at Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Sambadrome on Thursday. The piece was commissioned by Madame Tussauds and is scheduled to be displayed briefly in a local shopping mall before being shipped to the museum’s New York location this Sunday. The Real Madrid and Brazil national-team winger attended the ceremony alongside team-mate Éder Militão, praising the likeness as “identical.” Madame Tussauds did not disclose the cost of the sculpture but said the project took several months of detailed measurements and 3-D scanning in Madrid and London studios.
