Two young European brown bears named Mish and Lucy escaped from their enclosure at the Wildwood Devon wildlife park in southwest England on June 23, 2025. During their approximately one-hour escape, the bears made their way to the park's food storage area and consumed about a week's supply of honey. The incident prompted the evacuation of visitors and the involvement of police and a firearms unit to ensure public safety. After feasting on the honey, the bears fell asleep in the storage area and were safely returned to their enclosure without causing harm. The park is investigating how the bears managed to escape. CCTV footage captured the bears' escape and their raid on the honey store. The bears weigh approximately 180 kilograms each. The wildlife park described the event as a brief but notable escape and emphasized the safe recovery of the animals.
