Drake made good on a plan he floated earlier this week by chartering a roughly $80 million private jet to fly U.S. livestreamers Adin Ross, members of the Nelk Boys and other content creators to London for the opening night of his three-day headline run at the Wireless Festival on 11 July. During the trans-Atlantic trip, Ross broadcast continuously for about seven hours to an online audience of millions, using SpaceX’s Starlink satellite network for connectivity at 40,000 feet. Viewers reported no lag, underscoring Starlink’s growing utility for real-time, high-bandwidth applications in aviation. The stream ended abruptly after the aircraft touched down at London Luton Airport, when local police boarded the jet for undisclosed reasons. The passengers were ultimately allowed to continue to Finsbury Park, where the festival is being held. On stage that evening, Drake acknowledged Ross and the other streamers from the crowd and boosted the spectacle by bringing out surprise guests—including Lauryn Hill, Givēon, Bryson Tiller, Bobby V and Mario—during a set that opened his unprecedented three-night headline engagement at the 20th-anniversary edition of Wireless.
