Prince Harry will return to the United Kingdom on 8 September to attend the 20th anniversary WellChild Awards, his first trip back in 19 months and the first since he lost a legal battle over taxpayer-funded police protection. The visit coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. WellChild, a charity supporting seriously ill children, said the Duke of Sussex, 40, will meet award winners and their families at the London ceremony. Harry has been patron of the organisation since 2007 and has regularly presented the annual prizes. Several British media outlets report that King Charles III, who is receiving cancer treatment, has room in his schedule for a private meeting with his younger son, raising the prospect of their first face-to-face conversation in more than a year and a half. Prince William is not expected to join any reunion. Harry is understood to be travelling alone from California, where he lives with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and their two children.
