Prince Harry will travel to London on 8 September to attend the 20th annual WellChild Awards, a charity gala that supports seriously ill children. The date coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, adding symbolic weight to the visit. Harry has served as patron of WellChild since 2007 and is scheduled to meet award recipients and present a prize at the ceremony. The trip will be the Duke of Sussex’s first to Britain since he lost a High Court appeal in February over the removal of taxpayer-funded police protection. Under the ruling, he must arrange and finance his own security while in the country. Royal advisers say the visit could include Prince Harry’s first face-to-face meeting with King Charles III in roughly 20 months. The monarch’s calendar reportedly has an opening while he continues out-patient cancer treatment. No similar encounter is expected with Prince William, whose relationship with his younger brother remains strained. Harry is expected to travel without the Duchess of Sussex or their two children.
