Yusuf Sawaqed, a 25-year-old man from Everett, Massachusetts, was arrested and arraigned on charges related to a series of politically motivated acts of vandalism targeting the Massachusetts State House, a George Washington statue, and an MIT laboratory. Authorities linked Sawaqed to a pro-Palestinian group. In addition to vandalism, he faces charges for possession of hoax devices after leaving two homemade explosive devices in Boston Common, which prompted a response from the bomb squad. Sawaqed was held on cash bail following his arraignment.
