Amphenol Corp. is in advanced talks to acquire CommScope Holding’s broadband connectivity and cable unit in a transaction that would value the business at about $10.5 billion including debt, according to people familiar with the discussions cited by the Wall Street Journal and other outlets. The unit—known internally as CommScope Connectivity Solutions (CCS)—supplies fiber-optic cables and related equipment used in data-center build-outs and high-speed broadband networks, areas where Amphenol’s interconnect products already have significant exposure. A definitive agreement could be reached as early as Monday, the reports said. Representatives for Amphenol and CommScope have not commented publicly.
