Bank of Montreal (BMO) is restructuring its senior executive team and combining its U.S. personal and business banking, commercial banking, and wealth management divisions under new leadership. Aron Levine, a former Bank of America executive with over 30 years of experience, has been appointed to lead BMO's main U.S. businesses. Levine will be based in Chicago and report to BMO CEO Darryl White and U.S. CEO Darrel Hackett. The bank has also hired Tony Sciarrino from JPMorgan Chase as head of U.S. commercial banking and named Kristin Milchanowski, formerly of EY, as chief AI officer. Other changes include the retirement of Ernie Johannson, BMO's head of North American personal and business banking, in early 2026. Sharon Haward-Laird and Mat Mehrotra have been named co-heads of Canadian personal and commercial banking, with Haward-Laird also overseeing Canadian commercial banking and North American shared services. Nadim Hirji, previously head of commercial banking, will become vice chair. All appointments are effective July 7. The executive changes follow BMO's $16 billion acquisition of Bank of the West in 2023.
