Starbucks has announced a new policy requiring its corporate employees to work in the office at least four days a week, an increase from the previous three-day mandate. This change is part of CEO Brian Niccol's ongoing turnaround efforts aimed at strengthening company culture and reestablishing an in-office work environment. The policy, effective starting October 2025, also includes provisions for some remote workers who may be required to relocate to Starbucks' headquarters in Seattle or Toronto within 12 months. Employees who do not wish to comply with the new in-office requirements are being offered a buyout option. Niccol emphasized that the company performs best when employees work together in person. This move marks a significant rollback of Starbucks' earlier remote work flexibility amid broader efforts to revitalize the brand.
