NEWS: The California Coastal Commission voted on Thursday against a plan by @SpaceX to nearly double the number of Falcon 9 rocket launches the company is permitted to conduct each year from Vandenberg Space Force Base, from 50 to 95 https://t.co/D9URL5sKNk
The California Coastal Commission has once again opposed SpaceX's proposal to expand its Falcon 9 rocket launches from Vandenberg Space Force Base on the West Coast. The commission voted against increasing the annual launch limit from 50 to 95, continuing its previous rejection from last October when it opposed an increase to 50 launches per year. This marks a repeated setback for SpaceX's efforts to nearly double its launch frequency at the site. Separately, SpaceX is also urging the state of Virginia to revise its Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) funding proposal and has called on the U.S. Commerce Department to intervene and reject Virginia's current plan.
