Chu, known for his work on 'Wicked,' and produced by Marc Platt, the producer behind 'La La Land.' The rights to the memoir were acquired in a competitive bidding war involving major studios such as Sony, Warner Brothers, Fox, Disney, and Netflix. The deal reportedly includes Spears' music catalog and is valued at eight figures. Spears is expected to be involved in the project, having final say on casting decisions. The memoir has sold over 2.5 million copies in the United States.
