Target Corporation and Ulta Beauty announced they will end their shop-in-shop partnership in August 2026. This collaboration, launched in 2021, involved Ulta Beauty shops operating inside over 600 Target stores nationwide. Despite the planned termination, Ulta’s beauty shops will continue to operate within Target locations and online until the partnership officially concludes. Reports indicate that the partnership faced challenges, including substantial shoplifting losses, with one store reportedly experiencing thefts amounting to $10,000 per month. Separately, Target is also closing its fulfillment operations at an Indianapolis distribution center, affecting 201 employees with terminations scheduled for September 19. Additionally, hundreds of Target employees at a distribution facility in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood were fired following allegations of exploiting a glitch in the company's medical loan benefit program to improperly obtain funds.
