The South American football governing body CONMEBOL confirmed that the 2025 Copa Libertadores final will be played at the Estadio Monumental in Lima on 29 November. The 80,000-seat venue, home to Peruvian club Universitario, hosted the tournament’s first single-match final in 2019. Announcing the decision, CONMEBOL president Alejandro Domínguez thanked the Peruvian federation and stadium operators, saying the event would match “the best in the world.” Separately, Chile’s Universidad Católica received final municipal approval to open its new 20,000-capacity Claro Arena in the Las Condes district of Santiago. The club scheduled the stadium’s first official match for 23 August against Unión Española, marking the end of a protracted construction and licensing process.
