The Major League Soccer All-Stars defeated their Liga MX counterparts 3–1 on Wednesday at Q2 Stadium in Austin, securing a third win in the four-year series between the two North American leagues. Nashville SC’s Sam Surridge opened the scoring in the 28th minute, with Philadelphia Union forward Tai Baribo doubling the lead shortly after the interval. Vancouver Whitecaps striker Brian White added the third late on, while 16-year-old Gilberto Mora of Club Tijuana pulled one back for the Mexican side. The exhibition took place without Inter Miami stars Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba, who declined their call-ups. Liga MX, coached by Club América’s André Jardine and captained by Monterrey defender Sergio Ramos, was unable to repeat its 2024 victory despite periods of sustained pressure. Organisers announced an attendance of roughly 20,700 at the 20,738-seat venue. The match sets the stage for the Leagues Cup, which begins 29 July and will again pit all 18 clubs from each league against one another.
