The 2025 World Robot Conference (WRC) opened on August 8 in Beijing’s Yizhuang district, marking the event's 10th anniversary. The conference features over 1,500 cutting-edge robotic products from approximately 200 domestic and international companies, representing a 25% increase in participating firms from the previous year. The event highlights future development trends in embodied intelligent robots, focusing on areas such as cognition, decision-making, and safety. Among the exhibits, three Unitree G1 humanoid robots demonstrated combat skills at the opening ceremony. The conference also includes the concurrent Beijing Championship of the World Robot Contest, which runs from August 8 to 12, featuring over 30 major and more than 70 minor events with participation from over 100 competition groups and 30 humanoid robot teams. The showcased robots exhibit diverse capabilities including dancing, moving boxes, providing medical assistance, and companionship, signaling their potential transition into everyday life and workplaces. Additionally, China has launched the world’s first humanoid robot mall in Beijing, modeled after a car dealership, further underscoring the country’s commitment to advancing robotics technology.
