Beijing is set to open the world's first 4S store dedicated to embodied artificial intelligence (AI) humanoid robots in August 2025, coinciding with the 2025 World Robot Conference scheduled for August 8-12. The store, modeled after automotive 4S dealerships, will showcase and sell the first batch of humanoid robots from nearly 30 companies, including major players such as Ubtech and Agibot. These robots are designed to perform household chores like cooking, cleaning, shopping, lawn mowing, and laundry, potentially saving adults up to 10 hours of chore labor weekly. Factories for producing these humanoid robots are already under construction, and orders are being placed, indicating a rapid move toward commercialization and popularization of advanced robotics in China. This development marks a notable advancement in the integration of AI and robotics into consumer markets, positioning Beijing as a global hub for embodied AI technology.
