China has introduced new regulations to enhance convenience for foreign tourists as part of efforts to revive international tourism following a Covid-related downturn. The new rules, announced on July 25, 2024, require hotels to improve services for foreign guests. Additionally, China plans to continue implementing measures to facilitate accommodation for foreign travelers by optimizing management of accommodation registration services and simplifying information collection procedures. Meanwhile, the People's Bank of China (PBOC) and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) have issued revised regulations to streamline cross-border capital flow management for Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (QFII) and Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (RQFII). These new regulations, effective August 26, 2024, aim to simplify registration procedures and allow direct investment in the interbank bond market.
