Exiled Chinese businessman Guo Wengui, also known as Miles Kwok, is facing $1 billion fraud charges. During his trial, the last witness for the defense, George Higginbotham, testified that Malaysian fraudster Jho Low spent around $100 million in a failed effort to influence the Trump administration to extradite Guo to China. Guo is accused of raising over $1 billion through fraudulent investments and spending millions on luxury items, including a red Lamborghini and a yacht. A former DOJ attorney admitted to participating in a plot to lobby the U.S. government for Guo's extradition. Guo's fate will soon rest with a New York Jury.
