Hong Kong is set to launch its first spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs on April 30 at 9:30 a.m. EDT, managed by China Asset Management, Bosera, and Harvest Global Investments. These ETFs are expected to attract significant initial inflows, potentially exceeding the first-day issuance of $125 million seen in the United States, with estimates ranging from US$200 million to US$300 million. The ETFs will allow for in-kind creations and feature wallet-to-wallet transfers. Investors from regions such as Singapore and the Middle East, along with Chinese investors holding Hong Kong residence permits, are eligible to participate. The launch is considered a significant event for the cryptocurrency market, potentially setting a new precedent for ETFs in Asia.
