Samsung has surpassed Apple in global phone sales for the second consecutive quarter, as reported by Counterpoint Research. The global smartphone market saw a 12% surge, with Samsung continuing to lead. In China, Apple has dropped out of the top five smartphone sellers in Q2 2024, highlighting the rise of Chinese mobile phone makers. In India, smartphone shipments fell by 2% year-on-year in the April-June quarter, impacted by heatwaves, seasonal downturns, and sluggish demand.
