Beijing-based AI startup Zhipu has successfully raised $412 million in a new funding round aimed at enhancing its artificial intelligence development. This follows a previous fundraising effort in May 2024, where Zhipu secured $400 million at a valuation of approximately $3 billion. The latest investment is part of a broader trend in which Chinese artificial intelligence companies have attracted substantial funding, totaling 82.13 billion yuan ($11.3 billion) in 2024, surpassing the previous year's total of 63.68 billion yuan. This surge in investment highlights the growing interest and financial backing for AI firms in China.
