Second‐quarter earnings season begins in earnest this week, with a raft of major financial institutions scheduled to report before the market opens on Tuesday, 15 July. JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, BlackRock, BNY Mellon and State Street will open the books, giving investors an early look at loan demand, trading revenue and credit quality after the Federal Reserve’s mid-year stress tests. Additional bank results from Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and PNC follow on Wednesday, alongside industrial and healthcare names such as ASML and Johnson & Johnson. Attention then shifts to technology and consumer bellwethers. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, General Electric, PepsiCo and Abbott Laboratories headline Thursday’s pre-market releases, but the main focus is on Netflix, which will publish its results after the closing bell that day. The streaming company’s report effectively opens Big Tech’s reporting cycle for the quarter. Analysts surveyed by LSEG look for Netflix to earn roughly $7.08 a share on about $11.1 billion in revenue, implying year-over-year growth of 45 % and 16 %, respectively, driven by January price increases and rapid uptake of its advertising-supported tier. Options markets are pricing a move of around 5–6 %, or $66 to $80 a share, once the numbers land. Netflix stock has gained roughly 40 % in 2025, adding about $250 billion in market value and trading just shy of its late-June record high of $1,341, leaving little room for disappointment in guidance or margins.
